Beautiful small Alpine lakes like the Tovel Lake, Santa Maria Lake or Smeraldo Lake, in which you can enjoy the sun, refresh yourself swimming in its sparkling waters or fish enjoying the peace and quiet of the morning.
The guided tours to the Canyon Rio Sass and to the River Park Novella (“Parco Fluviale Novella”) will make you rediscover fantastic spots which have been hidden for centuries. Gorges, ravines and waterfalls are now easily accessible through an accessorized walkway.
Interesting and amusing excursions accompanied by a guide or alone, take place on the numerous paths through green forests and grassland, either on foot or by riding a horse or by mountain bike. In addition, you will be able to rest on mountain pastures, allowing you to do trekking in the high mountains for several days.
You can play golf on the fascinating course with 18 holes of the Dolomiti Golf Club, which is considered one of the most beautiful in the Alps. It is also appreciated by professional players.
The more sport-loving visitors will have the opportunity to do rafting on the Noce River and canyoning in the Rio Sass Canyon, or alternatively climb a natural climbing wall as well as enjoying indoor climbing. Close by Villa Belfiore a brand new football field with changing rooms, play ground with basketball field and outdoor swimming pool are waiting for you!
The new link in the bike path of the Alta Val di Non winds between countries, towns, fields, orchards countries Malgolo, Romanian, Salter, Cavareno, Sarnonico, Ronzone, Malone and Fund. It ‘a wonderful ring of the length of 25 km which is on paved roads and paved. The route offers many dining options and is equipped with signage.
With the first snow the winter season begins, and you can go for a walk with “ciaspole”, the famous regional snowshoes or go downhill skiing, descending slopes, cross-county skiing or enjoy the numerous itineraries for Alpine skiing, while children can have fun at Nevelandia, the “fun park” for children. Also, you can enjoy fantastic moments ice-skating on the Smeraldo Lake or in the brand new Palaghiaccio (an indoor skating arena), which is open also in the evening. You may also decide to play tennis in the indoor and heated tennis court and then relax in one of the nearby wellness centres.
For art and history lovers there are interesting historic-artistic itineraries to castles, sanctuaries and museums, from the Thun castle to the sanctuary of Saint Romedio, the Retic museum, the eco-museums in Anaunia and the numerous churches of the valley. Well prepared guides are available.
A great number of events are organised during the year. For instance, the “Ciaspolada”, the famous winter race / run with snowshoe race; the “4 ville in fiore”, the spring festival to celebrate the blooming period with a competition among the apple trees of the Val di Non; the “Dragononesa”, the competition between canoeists on lake Santa Giustina; the festivals, cultural and gastronomic events, in which you can sample and enjoy the typical cuisine of the valley and watch historic recreations in exclusive historic centres; the “Pomaria”, the celebration to honour the apples and autumn harvest; and the many Christmas markets in the near cities Bolzano and Merano as well as the farmer markets where you can buy fresh vegetables and fruit from the garden.
